Cities and towns across Indiana are gearing up to make the most of next year’s spectacular solar eclipse event. Indiana falls within the path of totality, where the sun will momentarily disappear behind the moon, casting an awe-inspiring midday darkness.
State Senators Eric Bassler and Mark Messmer are highlighting an important funding opportunity for eclipse-related activities. The IU Center for Rural Engagement is offering grants of $2,000 to support events and initiatives centered around the eclipse, which is set to occur on or around April 8th, 2024. Eligible projects can encompass various artistic and cultural endeavors, including performances, visual arts, film screenings, and heritage celebrations.
Applicants for the grant are encouraged to submit their proposals by September 1st, seeking to secure financial assistance for their eclipse-related plans. Additional information and application details can be found using this link
