Hatchet and Viking golf teams were in action along with Vincennes Rivet yesterday evening at the Oaks. Barr Reeve shoots a 184, Hatchets fire a 197. Rivet with only 3 golfers doesn’t record a team score. Medalist in the match is Hatchet Channey Clark with a 39, finishing with back to back birdies. Brynlee Rollins leads the Vikings with a 42 and Jaqueline Steninger tops the Patriots with a 41. Saturday at 2:30 is the Washington Invitational at Country Oaks. 15 Teams involved in the first big event for the area this season.

Cubs take 3 of 4 off the Reds. Elly De La Cruz and Spencer Steer homer for the Reds. Reds drop into 2nd place in the NL Central while the Cubs move to within 2.5 games.

This Sunday is the Silo Showdown, a 27-hole event that includes scramble, best ball and alternate shot. The tournament is put on by local players at Country Oaks. If you’re not playing come out to the Oaks and watch the golfers play the daunting 18th hole from the shaded pavilion and have a burger to benefit the Washington Girls golf team.
