Charlotte Lucille Theriac, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 20, 2023 with her family by her side. Charlotte was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, on December 30, 1929 and was the daughter of the late William R and Margaret (Clark) Mattingly. She married the love of her life, Owen (Bud) Theriac on October 27th 1949.
Charlotte loved being a mother to her seven children. She was the most gentle, loving, kind, and compassionate woman you would ever meet. Her smile lit up every room. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, dancing (she always wanted to be a Rockette), and being with her family. Her claim to fame was being crowned Miss Bobby Sox in 1948.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her grandson, Ian Nicholas Theriac, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Mattingly.
Charlotte is survived by her children: Jane Kruger of Ashland, OR, Tim Theriac and spouse, Gene Dixon, of Walla Walla, WA, Jill Theriac of Vincennes, IN, John Theriac and his wife, Melanie, of Vincennes, IN, Carol Schickedanz and her husband, Frank, of Fort Worth, TX, Nick Theriac and his wife, Londa, of Vincennes, IN, and Sandy Theriac and her husband Jim Mueting of Seattle, WA; her brothers and sisters: Russell Mattingly and his wife, Janice, of Santa Ana, CA, Joe Mattingly of Irvine, CA, and Gerrie James of Daytona Beach, FL; her grandchildren: Carly Reed (Josh), Nick Kruger (Valerie), Tessa Farrar (Jerrid), Haili Blauvelt (Dave), Ellie Theriac, Natalie Weyer (Brandon), Danielle Oexmann, Brianna Oexmann, Aaron Schickedanz (Jenna), Dane Schickendanz (Haley), Eliot Mueting, and Henry Mueting; her great grandchildren: Lola, Kiaya, and Knox Farrar, Charlotte Reed, Camila and Sofia Kruger, Jude and Olivia Schickedanz, Rosemary Blauvelt, and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Special mention, Jim Wehrheim, her dear friend and private gardener.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. John’s Catholic Church. Father Tony Ernst will be officiating. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Charlotte.
