Washington Hatchet wrestler Brady Byrd is representing Team Indiana in USA Wrestling’s Fargo Boys tournament in North Dakota at the Fargodome over the next 6 days. Fargo is the biggest high school wrestling tournament in the nation at nearly 8000 participants from all 50 states. Brady will compete in both freestyle and Greco Roman divisions in the junior division. Brady got a buy in the freestyle 100 lb weight class and will next face Xavier Diaz from Council Rock North HS in Pennsylvania. Stay tuned to these sports reports all week for Brady’s results.
In Monday’s postponed NASCAR Race, Martin Truex Jr. was untouchable at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Truex led all but 47 laps of the 301-lap race on the way to his third win of the season. The dominating victory also pushes Truex to first in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings.
The 151st Open Championship is this week at Royal Liverpool a par 71 – 7,383 yard test that will be more difficult if those English winds are high. 156 of the best players in the world will tee it up this week including South Knox alum Adam Schenk who will be making his Open Championship debut.
