Dennis Bruggeman

Dennis Bruggeman, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 12:20 pm on July 11, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dennis was born on December 13, 1941, in Fairborn, OH and is the son of Norman Eugene and Evelyn Louise (Craig) Bruggeman. Dennis married Karen Clark on August 27, 1966, and they celebrated over fifty-six years of marriage.
 
He was a graduate of Fairborn High School in Fairborn, OH where he participated on the football team. After graduation Dennis attended Mt. Vernon Bible College in Mt Vernon, OH where he received his ministerial license with The Foursquare Gospel Church. He pastored churches in Milwaukee, WI and Organ, IL. Dennis retired from Vincennes Steel in 2005 where he worked as a machine operator for over 30 years.
Dennis was a big I.U. and Cincinnati Reds fan. He also coached YMCA football, Cub League and Boys League baseball. He also loved to watch old westerns on TV and you could find him any afternoon enjoying one.
 
Survivors include his wife Karen Bruggeman of Vincennes; his children, Chris Bruggeman and his wife Amy of Vincennes, Todd Bruggeman of Evansville, Holly Sterrett and her husband Jonathan of Vincennes; his brother, David Bruggeman of Springfield, OH, a sister in law Betty Bruggeman of Hillsboro, OH, brother and sister in law Bernard and Sondra Twitty of Bradenton, FL, a sister in law Janice Clark of Vincennes and brother in laws Bradford Clark and Kim Freez of Copemish, MI , his grandchildren, Olivia Johnson and her husband Brock, Xavier Bruggeman, Jeremiah, Rebekah and Emma Sterrett, many nieces and nephews and one great grandchild on the way.
 
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Evelyn Bruggeman, his mother-in-law Lois J. Clark; a sister-in-law Jean Bruggeman, a brother-in-law Robert Clark, nephew Mark E Twitty, niece Laura McRoberts, his three brothers; Jimmy Bruggeman, George Bruggeman and Gary Bruggeman and his great granddaughter, Delilah Mae Johnson.
 
If Dennis could speak to you in death, he would tell you that Heaven is real and Jesus is real. He would also tell you how much Jesus loves you and wants a relationship with you. And that throughout scripture God tells us how to find His salvation. We must be convinced that we need Him. Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
 
Friends may visit with Dennis’ family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Pastor Dale Biehl will officiate, and Dennis will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Dennis and his family.
