Air Quality Alert: Canadian Wildfire Smoke Returns to Indiana

Smoke originating from the Canadian wildfires has made its way back to Indiana, impacting the air quality in the region. Most of Indiana is currently categorized as “moderate,” meaning outdoor activity is generally acceptable for the majority of individuals. Individuals with heart or lung disease and older adults are still encouraged to minimize their time outdoors whenever possible. According to Randy Bowers from the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, the smoke is not expected to significantly reduce visibility. Incoming storms are anticipated to alleviate the effects of the wildfire smoke, but there is a possibility that the smoke may persist throughout the week. Residents are advised to stay updated on air quality conditions and take necessary precautions for their health.
