Betty I. Fithian, 81, passed away at 12:52 pm on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Betty was born on October 9, 1941, in Union, IN and she is the daughter of Roy S. and Doris M. (Gladish) Harvey. She married William B. Fithian on November 29, 1963, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2013.
Betty graduated from Hazelton High School in 1959 and worked at Amercian National Bank for eight years, thirteen years at Vincennes Community School Corporation where she worked in the reading lab, and she retired after working ten years at German American Bank. She was an avid Purdue Boilermaker and Vincennes Lincoln Alice fan and she loved to cook and try new recipes.
Survivors include her sons, Jason Fithian of Vincennes; Lance Fithian and his wife Carmel of Reno, NV; her grandchildren, Matthew, Paris, Ozzy, Max and Jack Fithian, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Doris Harvey, her siblings, Jane Hunt and Philip Harvey and her husband Bill Fithian.
Graveside services for Betty will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tower II Mausoleum, 919 Willow St, with Pastor Dale Biehl officiating. The Fithian family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Vincennes Lincoln Athletic Department or the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
