A crowdfunding campaign has been initiated to enhance the local skatepark located in Lester Square in Vincennes. Discussions regarding the park’s renovations have been ongoing for the past year. Mayor Joe Yochum of Vincennes has signed a design agreement with Hunger Skate Parks, and the groundbreaking is scheduled for the fall of this year. The proposed design aims to create an inclusive space that caters to individuals of all ages and skill levels, accommodating bikes, scooters, roller blades, wheelchairs, and skateboards. Chris Moore, the Superintendent of Vincennes Parks & Recreation, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Patronicity to raise funds for the project. Their target is to collect $50,000 by August 18th, which will make the project eligible for a matching grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s CreatINg Places program.
