Former escaped fugitive Casey White was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday after evading capture and sparking a nationwide manhunt. White, 39, escaped an Alabama jail with jailer Vicky White in 2022. They managed to evade authorities for 11 days, including a week spent in Evansville. On May 9, 2022, they were apprehended after a car chase, during which Vicky White fatally shot herself. Casey White pleaded guilty to charges related to the escape, and in exchange, the felony murder charge for Vicky White’s death was dropped.
