Mervin S. Graber, “Sim”

Mervin S. Graber, “Sim”, 81, passed away at 8:58 am on May 24, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Merv was born on April 21, 1942, in Washington, IN and is the son of Peter W. and Rose (Stoll) Graber. He married Martha Yoder on April 20, 1963.

Merv was a member of Providence Mennonite Church. He founded Graber Construction in 1969 and Graber Crane in 1975. Merv’s first passion was farming and cattle. You could always find him draining puddles with a shovel in his hand. When he wasn’t at the White Steamer drinking coffee, you could find him surrounded by his kids and grandkids, especially at Monday night dinners.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Graber of Washington; his children, Virginia Dayton and her husband Steve, Lyndon Graber and his wife Amy, Tony Graber and his wife Mikki, Dennis Graber and his wife Holly all of Washington; sixteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; his siblings, Mary Catherine Wagler, Pauline Stoltzfus, Roselyn Coblentz, Shirley Yoder, Beverly Yoder, Karen Graber, Alvis, Richard, Paul and Gordon Graber. Merv is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Rose Graber; brothers, Gary, Dale and Don Graber and his sister, Lydiann Mullett.

Friends may visit with Merv’s family from 1-4 pm and from 5-8 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Providence Mennonite Church, 4738 US 50, Montgomery, IN 47558. Merv’s funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Providence Mennonite Church with Steve Dayton officiating. Merv will be laid to rest in Providence Mennonite Church Cemetery. The Graber family has requested memorial contributions be made to First Choice Solutions (Pregnancy Center), 714 W.
