The Lady Hatchet Track & Field’s 2023 season officially ended at the regional meet Tuesday night.
Sophomore Kapri Granger finished 9th in pole vault tying her current school record, clearing 9’6”. Junior Molly Jones competed in the 400m dash and finished 12th overall. Senior Megan Hinkle battled a bit of an injury that unfortunately took her out of competing for one of her events but Megan did compete in the 1600m. Congratulations on a fine season to Hatchet girls track and coach Kristin MCGuire.
Barr Reeve’s Elle Knepp is now a 2 xSectional Champion in the 100 & 300 m Hurdles and Sectional Runner-up in High Jump clearing 5’0. In the 100 m hurdles Elle set a SCHOOL RECORD with a time of 15.11 & 3rd place finish which punched her ticket to the state meet in this event. She then competed in the 300 m Hurdles finishing in 4th place with a new SCHOOL RECORD with a time of 46.77. Good luck to Elle at the state track meet.

Reds score 4 in the first and never look back and beat the Cardinals 10-3. 3rd baseman Spencer Steer leads the way going 4 for 5 with 2 RBI’s. Ben Lively gets the win on the bump to go 2-2 and Steven Matz gets the loss. Matz is now 0-6 on the season.
The Mets visited the friendly confines and are defeated by the Chicago cubs 4-2. Marcus Strohman gets the win and Mark Leiter Jr. gets the save. Nico Horner went deep for the cubbies.
After Stefon Wilson suffered a fractured vertebrae in a crash during Monday’s practice session Graham Rahal will be his replacement in the 107th Indy 500 after all. Rahal will be making his 16th start in the race – the sixth-highest total among active drivers. Rahal was dramatically bumped from the field by Rahal Letterman Lanigan teammate Jack Harvey in a desperate last-gasp qualifying run as the session concluded this past weekend.Sunday green flag at 12:45 p.m.
