Close game until Pike Central breaks it open in the 6th when they scored 4 runs. Hatchets end a rough campaign but they are young and gained tons of experience this year that will service them well.

Orleans 2 Barr Reeve 7

Another big game for Murray State commit Karlye Graber.  She hits 2 long home runs, knocks in 4 runs and gets the win on the mound striking out 15. 

 

LHS 4 ND  5

Back and forth battle, in a great sectional softball game.  North Daviess scores in the bottom of the 6th to win.  2 out hits is what made the difference for the Cougs.

 BR now won 22 in a row. Monster day for sophomore Seth Wagler he hits 2 long balls goes 3-3 with 4 runs scored and 5 RBI’s. Jacob Pauw also went deep for the Vikings.

At the Jasper Regional it’s Barr Reeve versus South Knox and Jasper versus ND. Washington’s Lacy Hancock will be participating in the #1 Singles portion of the state tournament.

The starting grid for the Indianapolis 500 is now set after qualifications this past weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Alex Palou (Palow) won the pole with the fastest pole position speed in race history at 234.217 mph. The starting field average speed is the fastest in race history, as well. Race fans will be able to catch the Indy 500 Sunday May 28th on Memories 107.9

Carmelo Anthony officially retires from NBA after 19 seasons. Most notably spent time with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. Anthony made 10 All-Star teams, six All-NBA first-teams and won three gold and one bronze Olympic medals. Anthony also landed on the NBA’s all-time 75th anniversary team and ranks ninth all-time in points scored with 29,289.

NFL owners approved a rule Monday that allows teams to designate an emergency quarterback on game day, a rule they revived after the San Francisco 49ers ran out of quarterbacks during their loss in the NFC Championship Game last season to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The rule applies only to quarterbacks who are on a team’s 53-man roster.
