Successful Bids and Grant Award for Knox County Paving Projects

Knox County Highway Superintendent Benji Boyd expressed satisfaction with the bids received for a Community Crossings Matching Grant paving project. The county was awarded $1 million for repaving sections of Freelandville Road, Evans Road, and Pine Bluff Road. Two bids were opened during the County Commissioners meeting, with Milestone Contractors submitting the lowest bid of $1,254,210, which was recommended by Boyd and approved by the Commissioners. The grant will cover $1 million, and the county will provide the remaining funds. The bid came in under the superintendent’s budget estimate. Superintendent Boyd was acknowledged for his successful efforts in securing the maximum grant amount for Knox County.
