Evansville, Ind. – Evansville Police Officer John Porter Jr. is suing the department in federal court over accusations he has been discriminated against for years. Porter has been with the department since 2014 and says his claims of racial discrimination were ignored by his superiors. His lawsuit says he was told several times he was a “thug with a badge” and that he looked like a member of the rap group NWA. Other comments he says he endured included being told he and relatives were drug dealers and that he was under investigation for dealing drugs.
