Master Trooper Lents Named 2022 Indiana State Police Trooper of the Year for Exemplary Service to the State

Master Trooper Lents has been named the 2022 Indiana State Police Trooper of the Year by Superintendent Douglas G. Carter. The award recognizes Troopers who go above and beyond expectations in serving the state of Indiana, including traffic and criminal enforcement, investigations, and community service. Lents, who graduated from Indiana State University and the Indiana State Police Recruit Class, has worked in law enforcement for over a decade. In 2022, he issued over 2,100 traffic contacts and made five operating while intoxicated arrests. He also arrested 76 defendants on 152 criminal charges, with 35 of those being felonies, and worked on multiple complex investigations to ensure justice for victims. Currently assigned to Martin County, Lents is known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to his community.
