Loogootee Lion tennis team was in action at home on Saturday in the LHS Open. In the early match it was Loogootee winning 4-1 versus Bloomfield. Winners were #1 singles Kieragen Napier, #2 singles Caitlin Carrico doubles teams of Ana Toy and Addy Lengacher as well as Abbey Fisher and Macy Knepp. In the championship match it was Gibson Souther taking home the crown with a 5-0 win.
Barr Reeve Softball had a big day on Saturday in a double header versus Clay City. In game 1 Karlye Graber tossed a 3 hit shutout and 13 strikeouts in a 4-0 win and in game 2 Graber hit a walk off homer to win it 6-4 for the Vikings who are ranked #2 in 1A.
Cypress Hill golf club was the home for the Vincennes Invitational golf tournament on Saturday. Hatchets finished 5th in the 16 team field with a 346 while Barr Reeve finished 15th with a 401. Vincennes Lincoln and South Knox finished in a tie for 2nd with 334. Gibson Southern won the trophy with a 306 and state title contender Peyton Blackard was the medalist with a 69.
Major League Baseball on Sunday….the Reds beat the Phillies 6-4, Brewers over the Cardinals 6-1 and the Cubs lose to the Rangers 8-2.
Indiana Pacers end their season on a winning note beating the Knickerbockers 141 to 136. Pacers end the season at 35-47. The NBA playoffs play-in tournament starts tomorrow.
 
At the Masters Jon Rahm shot 12 under and bested Phil Mickleson and Brooks Koepka to win his 2nd major championship and first green jacket. Rahm takes home a record Masters purse of 3.2 million dollars
