Lady Hatchet Track and Field Results

The Lady Hatchets Track & Field team was back in action on Thursday  finishing first in a triangular meet hosted with Vincennes Lincoln and Barr-Reeve. Washington 79, Vincennes Lincoln 45 and Barr-Reeve 29.

The Lady Hatchets were able to place in all events entered which aided in the outcome.

11 different athletes score and all 3 relay teams had a first place finish. 4×800 team of Paige Dills, Alejandra Gomez-Moreno, Ally Decker and Megan Hinkle finished in front. The 4×1 shaved a little time off and finished 1st with Tamara Datus, Kapri Granger, Jasara Turner and Ellie Matteson. The 4×4 relay also crossed the line 1st with Ellie Matteson, Megan Hinkle, Ayla Owens and Molly Jones.

Several of those same athletes had first place finishes in their individual events. Seniors Ellie Matteson and Megan Hinkle along with junior Molly Jones and sophomores Kapri Granger and Haley Wade placed in all the events they entered in both relays and individual events. Matteson finished 1st in the 200m dash, along with being part of both the 4×1 and 4×4 and 2nd in the 100m dash. Hinkle had a 1st place finish in the 800m and with the 4×8. Jones had a 1st place finish in the 400m, 2nd in high jump, a 3rd place finish in the 200m dash and 1st with the 4×1. Granger finished 3rd in both the 300m hurdles and tied in PV with a jump of 7’6”. She also had a 4th place finish in 100m hurdles and was part of the 4×1 team. Sophomore Haley Wade finished with a 2nd place finish in the 1600m run and a 3rd place finish in the 3200m run.

Freshman Paige Dills finished in front in the 3200m run while Ally Decker, freshman, also had a 1st place finish in the 1600m run. Junior, Bree Browning placed in both shot and disc. Browning finished 1st in discus 91’5” and 2nd in shot put throwing 26’½”. Freshman, Ayla Owens tied for 2nd place in pole vault clearing 7’6” and also sealed a 3rd place finish in the 400m dash.

Junior Adda Conder had a 3rd place finish in the 300m hurdles while another junior, Alejandra Gomez-Moreno also crossed in 3rd place for the 800m run. Freshman, Alleigh Baxter threw 72’4” which placed her in 3rd while sophomore, Jasara Turner had a 4th place finish in the 100m dash. The Lady Hatchets will be back in action next Thursday .
