Sandborn Man Dies in Greene County Accident

Indiana Conservations Officers are conducting and investigation after recovering the body and vehicle of a Sandborn man from Black Creek in rural Greene County.  According to a press release, at 5:25 p.m. on March 30, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a fisherman reporting a possible submerged vehicle under a bridge on Greene County Road 1075 West.   The report says that responding officers located a fully submerged Chevrolet Avalanche.  DNR divers recovered the Avalanche and discovered the body of 55 year old David Jones of Sandborn inside.  The initial investigation showed that Jones’ Avalanche was traveling northbound on the county road when it collided with the bridge while crossing Black Creek.  The collision caused the vehicle to enter the water.   The report says the investigation is ongoing and the cause of death is pending an autopsy report.
