Sandra Qualkenbush

Sandra Qualkenbush age 62, of Shoals, passed on March 29, 2023, at 1:55 AM, at IU Hospice House in Bloomington. She was born July 16, 1960 in Washington, Indiana to John Robert and Mary Leona Henry. She married Charles Bradley “Brad” Qualkenbush, and he survives.
 
Sandy graduated from Shoals High School Class of 1978 and was employed at DSI working with adults with disabilities.
 
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Brad” Qualkenbush; mother, Mary Leona Henry; brothers, Robert Lee (Louise) Henry and John Alan (Marylen) Henry; one sister-in-law, Karla Henry; children, Lindsay Renee Qualkenbush and Charles James Robert Qualkenbush; and many cousins.
 
Preceding her in death are her father, John Robert Henry and one brother, Charles William Henry.
 
Sandy’s legacy in the Shoals community will be felt long after her passing. The impact one person can have is like a pebble in the water, one initial ripple multiplies one hundred fold until it touches everyone. Sandy worked with DSI clients and staff for more than thirty years and will be greatly missed. Sandy acted from the heart and the actions of compassion, caring, understanding and humor leave a lasting impact on family and friends. Sandy leaves us with the challenge to love and care for each other and cherish each moment.
 
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at The Queen-Lee Chapel in Shoals with burial to follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Pastor Cameron Gladish will officiate. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to Behind the Wire Ministries, The Shoals Fire Department or to Redemption Christian Church.
 
The Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care has been entrusted with the arrangements.
