The Pacers hosted the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night and lost to the Mavericks. 127 – 104. Benedict Mathurin led the Indiana squad in scoring with 26 points while Luka Doncic tallied 25 for the Mavs. The Pacers are on the outside looking in to get a spot in the NBA playoff play in tournament currently trailing the Bulls by 3 ½ games for the last spot.
 
As MLB Opening Day nears, with a $3.59 million deferred payment, Griffey Jr. will officially be the Reds’ fourth-highest-paid player in 2023. The 53-year-old Griffey Jr. will be near the top of Cincinnati’s payroll roughly 15 years after he last played for the franchise.

Reds RH Hunter Greene (5-13, 4.44) Greene, 23, becomes the youngest Reds Opening Day starter since 22-year-old Frank Pastore in 1980. Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto will begin the season on the injured list due to his surgically repaired shoulder to end his streak of 14 consecutive Opening Day starts. Votto underwent surgery on his left rotator cuff and biceps last August and isn’t ready for the start of the season. Votto said Monday that he will report to Triple-A Nashville later this week and begin a minor league rehab stint on Friday.

NFL news: It’s official: Lamar Jackson is ready to leave the Ravens. Weeks after Baltimore used the non-exclusive franchise tag on the star quarterback, allowing the former MVP to negotiate with other teams in free agency, Jackson revealed Monday that he requested a trade from the Ravens in early March. Colts would be a logical landing spot as they want off the veteran coaching carousel and Jackson is only 26. ..stay tuned….
