Linda Darlene Christenberry

Linda Darlene Christenberry, went to Heaven, surrounded by loved ones at her home on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born in Germany on April 16, 1957 and later moved to California after she was adopted by Norman ‘Bud’ and Juanita (Ellis) Scudder. Linda married her husband of 45 years, Jerry Christenberry, on June 25, 1977.
Linda was an active member of the Elnora Church of Christ. She retired from Administration at NWSC Crane on November 30, 2014 with 32 years of service. Linda was involved with Toastmasters, a communication and leadership development training at Crane and was involved in missionary work in Belize in Central America. Linda never met a stranger, she was outgoing, fun-loving, and made friends that became family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, walking, especially at State Parks, playing basketball, and living life. Linda mostly kept busy and loved life.
Family left to cherish the memories of Linda include: her husband of 45 years, Jerry Christenberry; daughter, Stacy (Bradford) Rinard; son, Jonathan Christenberry; grandsons, Braxton Sellers and Alexander Carpenter; sister, Cindy Reas; brothers, Winifred ‘Budsie’ Reas, J.R. Reas, Gernot (Elizabeth) Nowak and Jim Hanlon. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by: her adopted parents, Norman ‘Bud’ and Juanita Scudder; her biological mother, Gertrud Nowak; sister, Juanita Ingle; her in-laws, Foster Christenberry, Mary Maysel Wade and sister-in-law, Brenda Foucault.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Tom Rogers and Rick Tribby officiating. Linda will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elnora Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
