Katie Anne Sanders

Katie Anne Sanders, 44, of Shoals, Indiana, went home to be with the Lord Jesus, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Evansville, surrounded by her friends and family. She was born on December 21, 1978 in Bloomington, Indiana to Robert E. and Dixie (Wadsworth) Gregory. Katie married her loving husband, Jeffery R. Sanders on September 1, 2001.
Katie worked with adults with special abilities in Martin and surrounding counties and loved what she did. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, going on backroad trips and volunteering at the Martin County Humane Shelter. Katie also loved her dog, Tater, being by the water, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Family left to cherish the memories of Katie include: her husband, Jeffery Sanders; two sons, Zach Dove and Adam Sanders; two daughters, Lexus (Andrew) Sanders and Kali (Dakota) Mullins; four grandchildren, Addalynn, Brooklynn, Emersynn and Maesynn; her father, Robert E. (Sherry) Gregory; her mother, Dixie Gregory; sister, Bevin (Paxton) Gregory; brother, Seth (Marsha) Gregory; BFF, Julia (Jerry) Sanders; maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Bev Wadsworth and paternal grandmother, Carol Gregory. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jerry Gregory, Ray and Louise Sims.
Funeral Services to honor the life of Katie will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Bob Gregory officiating. Katie will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 29 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
