Tuesday night the junior high Barr Reeve Viking boys travelled to WRV, and the 8th grade were victorious over Wolverines 41-22. The Vikings were led in scoring by Miller Thompson with 16 points. 7th graders also won 55-32 to improve to 20-0. The Vikings travel to North Knox Thursday night to finish up the regular season.

Jasper native Scott Rolen has been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Rolen was named on 76.3% of ballots cast in his sixth year of eligibility to earn enshrinement. Rolen was a seven-time All-Star during his 17-year career, playing for the Phillies, Cardinals, Blue Jays and Reds. His eight Gold Gloves are fourth-most for a third baseman and was the 1997 NL Rookie of the Year.
