The annual IHSAA Girls Basketball Sectional Pairing Show is this Sunday from Indianapolis. We’ll find out who our local teams play in the opening round of the girls basketball tournament, which kicks off January 31st across the state. Tune in for live coverage of the pairings show Sunday afternoon at 5pm with Bob Lovell and Greg Rakestraw on WAMW and WRZR.
 
The WJHS 7th grade boys basketball team caped off a great season with a 46-25 win over Bloomfield. The Hatchets finished the season 19-4 under first year head coach Alex Boyd. The Hatchets were led in scoring by Jackson Howell with 16 points. The WJHS 8th grade boys (13-7) picked up a 51-48 win over Bloomfield. Brody Armes led 3 guys in double figures with 17 points. Levi Burkemper had 15 and Aiden Boyd had 12.
The 8th grade boys return to action Monday night at Boonville in the first round of the PAC tournament.
The Washington 7th & 8th grade Lady Hatchets made a trip to Vincennes Clark for 2 games on the road Thursday night. The Washington 7th grade Lady Hatchets got off to a cold start but rallied and picked up the win 32-10 to run their record to 11-8
The 8th grade Lady Hatchets would win the opening tip and never look back. They would score 16 points in the first quarter and go on to win in style 43-18. 8th grade girls Record: 17-3
Both teams play their last regular season Home Game Saturday Morning at the Jr. High Gym hosting Loogootee. 1st game starts at 10:00am.
7th Grade Vikings host Jasper and BR defeats the Wildcats 36-26 to improve to 18-0. Easton Graber leads the Vikes with 9 points. The 8th grade Vikings also beat the Wildcats 39-20. The Vikings led in scoring by Carson Yoder with 11 points, The Vikings will host Rivet on Monday night and travel to WRV Tuesday night.
