Holcomb’s Textbook Fee Elimination Plan

More details are coming out about Governor Eric Holcomb’s plan to eliminate textbook fees for students throughout the state.

The plan calls for the state to cover textbook fees for the families of all students at public schools.

That includes students kindergarten through 12th grade.

But under the proposal private school students books would not be covered.

That has some Republicans in the Statehouse skeptical of the bill.

Some private school students could have textbooks covered by the state under the plan, but their families would need certain income qualifications.
