Paul R. Bruner, 93, of Washington, formerly of Loogootee, Indiana passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Villages of Oak Ridge in Washington, Indiana.
He was born April 7, 1929 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late David Edward and Edna (Robinson) Bruner.
Paul was a member of the Loogootee Methodist Church and sang in the church choir. He enjoyed antiquing, refinishing furniture, gardening and taking care of flowers. Paul was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He retired from Crane in 1987 after approximately 30 years of employment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Edna Bruner; son, Paul Joe Bruner; siblings, Clarence Bruner, Harold Bruner, Harlin Bruner, Aline Darbutt, Charles Bruner, Donald Bruner, Mary Webster, David Bruner Jr., Edina Jackson, Audrey McNaughton, infant Orval Ralph Bruner and infant Esther May Bruner.
Paul is survived by his wife, Judith (Savage) Bruner, who he married December 26, 1987; children, Deborah McKibben of Washington, Shirley (John) Stangle of Vincennes, and David Bruner of Vincennes; grandchildren, Leslie (Charles) White, Ashley (Jerry) Burton, Adam (Nichol) Stangle, Brooke (Josh) Patterson, Victoria (Scott) Salmond and David (Holly) Bruner; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 3 step-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Bruner; daughter-in-law, Patty Bruner; bonus daughter, Amy (Steve) Caurro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at the Loogootee Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Condolences may be made online at www.blakefuneralhomes.com
