Hatten says this “major event” is a combination of winter storms, outdated tech, and the “tri-demic” affecting airline staff – that’s a term used to describe a mix of flu, RSV and COVID-19. Mike Hatten says that if an airline isn’t trying, then the government may bring the hammer down. Former South Bend mayor and current Transportation Secretary Pete Buttgieg told CNN the Department of Transportation will investigate the cancellations.
