The WJHS 7th grade boys basketball team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 49-27 win over the visiting Princeton Tigers. Jackson Howell led the Hatchets with 18 points followed Kayden Gross with 12. The 7th grade boys play again on Thursday at home vs Southridge following the 8th grade game.
The WJHS 8th grade boys basketball team (3-0) remained unbeaten with a 36-12 win over Princeton. Levi Burkemper paced the Hatchets with 18 points. The 8th grade returns to action Thursday night at home vs Southridge at 6:00.
The 7th grade girls came up short on their 2nd half comeback and lost 20-28. Shelby Dobson led the Vikings with 8 points. The 7th grade is now 1-2 on the season.
The 8th grade girls couldn’t get it going until 2nd Half also but they grinded out a 28 -24. Paighton Parson led the way with 11 hard fought points. 8th grade evens their record at 2-2. Both teams are back in action on Thursday @ Princeton.
Hatchets 6th Grade Boys Gold team opened their travel season with a 38-31 win over Shoals. Rodríguez led the team with 10 points Hatchets 6th Grade Boys Black team will play tonight at Bloomfield.
