The Lady Hatchet 7th & 8th grade girls Basketball teams of Kevin Huebner hosted the Pike Central lady Chargers at home in the Original Hatchet House.
The 7th grade Lady Hatchets opened the night on fire and would jump out to a 14-0 run in the first quarter. The 7th grade Lady Hatchets defense would cause more turnovers and would take a 22-0 score into the locker room at half time. All 10 girls for the 7th grade Lady Hatchets would play and play well. WJHS 7th grade girls went on to win this game 35-3.
7th grade girls Record. 3-0 The WJHS 8th would play in the 2nd game, and they would start out their night with a 15-2 lead after one quarter and take a 23-8 lead at half time. All the WJHS 8th grade girls would get in, and the WJHS 8th grade girls would work on their defense and work together as a team in the 3rd & 4th quarters and would pick up a very strong win at home 42-12 to close out the night. 8th grade girls move to 2-1 on the year. Next HOME game is tonight with Bedford NL. 1st game starts at 6:00pm at the Jr. High Gym.
The Barr Reeve 8th grade girls dropped a close contest to Vincennes Rivet 29-36. The 8th grade girls are now 1-2 on the young season. Paighton Parsons tallied 13 points and Cadence Burch added 10 points. Anna Sward, Lilly Lottes and Ella Miller all had 2 points to round out the scoring.
The 7th grade girls came out on top with a 10-9 win playing 2 – 8 minute quarters. Anna Sward got a steal and lay up with lessthan 30 seconds to push the Lady Vikings to victory. The 7th grade goes to 1-1 on the season. Shelby Dobson had 6 points , Anna Sward and Shay Knepp both had 2 points. Both Girls teams are back in action next Monday 11/21 @ NE DUBOIS.
