In the 1A Sectional 63, Loogootee lost to a very tough Springs Valley, who went on to defeat Vincennes Rivet and become the first team other than Barr Reeve or the Lady Lions to win Sectional 63 since 1993. Scores in the game 25 – 18,16,17.
The seasons ended for North Daviess in the 2A sectional at Eastern Greene as the Lady Cougars lose to Linton Stockton 25-15, 25-21 and 25-7.
Congrats to both North Daviess and Loogootee on fine seasons.

Another year and another 3A sectional title for the Lady Vikings of Barr Reeve. After dominating Southridge in the afternoon 25 – 9, 8 & 18 it was on to the championship match versus Heritage Hills and came away with a straight sets win 25-12,12 and 7. Next up for Barr Reeve is a trip to the Corydon regional where they’ll face Providence who won the Madison Sectional with 3-0 wins over both Scottsburg and Madison.

The Washington Hatchet run in the IHSAA girls soccer tournament ended on Saturday with the foe that ended the boys season as Evansville Memorial out goaled the Lady Hatchets 8-0 at the sports complex.  Big things for both the Hatchet boys and girls soccer programs next season.
Jaylon Mullen of North Daviess ended one of the areas all time careers in tennis on Saturday.  After an easy 6-0, 6-0 win in the afternoon semi final Jaylen ran into a buzzsaw in Bloomington North’s Nick Shirley and dropped in to sets 1-6 and 2-6.  Look for Shirley to be a serious contender for the individual singles state title.  Jaylen finishes a fantastic season at 28-1 and on his career was 96 wins with only 9 losses.
The Colts went into Sundays matchup with Jacksonville without Johnathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines but Matt Ryan and the Colts offense got it done when they needed to with  a 34-27 win over the Jaguars.   Ryan had his busiest day as a Colt, going 42-of-58 for 389 and 3 touchdowns. That’s Ryan’s most attempts in his career.
Michael Pittman Jr. had 13 catches for 134 yards, and Deon Jackson has 10 catches for 79 yards and also rushes for 42 yards. But the most important stat was the Colts had their highest-scoring game of the season and for the first time all year didnt allow Ryan to be sacked. Next up for the Colts is a trip to Tennessee on Sunday for a 1 O’clock game versus the Titans.
