Patricia Ann (Pepmeier) Jackson

Patricia Ann (Pepmeier) Jackson, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was met in Heaven by her parents, siblings, beloved son Jeff, and many other family members and dear friends. Patty was born August 11, 1932, to Henry and Hilda (Schulte) Pepmeier in Freelandville, Indiana. She married the love of her life, John Rich Jackson, on February 14, 1954.
Patty was a graduate of Freelandville High School. She was a fundamental piece of the Jackson Farm as a partner and bookkeeper, taking pride in the many wonderful meals she served at the farm table. Patty was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and its Paul Sunday school class for many years. She was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women’s Guild and the church choir, and the first woman to be elected to serve as president of the church board. She was a charter member of the Homettes Extension Club. She was proud to reach the milestone of having donated 100 pints of blood to the American Red Cross, but, in typical Patty fashion, went on to donate many more. Patty enjoyed playing the piano and organ, writing, cooking, cross stitch, playing cards, and, most of all, time spent in prayer with her precious family and friends. Patty will be remembered fondly for her servant-heart and quick-witted sense of humor. All who knew her were blessed by the love and grace she demonstrated daily.
Patty will be lovingly missed by her devoted husband of 68 years, John. Daughter Susan (Mark) Schutz of Vincennes, Son Robert (Vicki) Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida, Daughter-in-law Deena Jackson of Vincennes. Grandchildren Patrick (Sara) Schutz, Josh (Kylie) Jackson, Jayme (Cody) Lane, all of Vincennes. Great-grandchildren Ora Joyce Lane, Chance David Lane, Ann Marie Schutz, Leighton Jade Jackson, Colt Jackson Lane, Amelia Jane Schutz, Mailin Jo Jackson, Colvin John Perry Jackson, Breezlin Jeffrey Jackson. Sister-in-law Joy Mobarry, Sister-in-law Jean Wells (Bill) Lathrop.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeff Jackson, her sister Barbara (J.T.) McClure, her brother Herman (Naomi) Pepmeier, her brother Max (Norma) Pepmeier, and brother-in-law John Mobarry.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patty’s life at a graveside service at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 919 Willow St., Vincennes, IN. The graveside service will also be live-streamed at www.goodwinsievers.com under Patty’s obituary page.
