Alexander “Alex” B. Thompson

Alexander “Alex” B. Thompson 75, of Bicknell passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. Alex was born on July 1, 1947 in Vincennes to the late Carl Richard Thompson and Christina Shaw Bell Thompson.
Alex was employed in the maintenance department for the North Knox and Vincennes School Corporations. He also worked for area nursing homes in maintenance; Bicknell Nursing Home, Country Heart Home Healthcare , and also remodeled homes. Alex was a Vietnam veteran who served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW,and the French Club, and the Bicknell Methodist Church.
Alex is survived by; his loving wife, Jackie Sue Shreve Thompson; children, Angie Hatfield of Bicknell, Bobette York (Shawn) of Edwardsport, and Nickie Robbins (Mark) of Sandborn; grandchildren, Rocky Hatfield, Bethany Hatfield-Misner (Zachary), Skyler Robbins (Emilee), and Kaleigh Robbins; great-grandchildren, Keegan and Brealynn Hatfield, Blakely, Easton, and Remy Robbins, and Emilee Turner; siblings, Mary Page of Bicknell, and Tina Chambers (Jeff) of Bicknell; and several nieces and nephews; and was known as Pap to many.
He was preceded in death by; Grandson Bryce Hatfield, his parents Carl and Christina Thompson, a brother, Bob Thompson, sister, Carolyn Thompson, brother-in-law, Donald Page, and in-laws, Eddie and Dorothy Shreve.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Bicknell Chapel with a funeral immediately following also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are asked to be made to the American Red Cross. Burial will follow in Bicknell Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
