Falling Gas Prices

gas-prices2

Gas prices have been falling for nearly 100 days, and the gas tax is dropping with it. The gas use calculation was published by the Indiana Department of Revenue for the month of October. The gas tax is calculated by taking the average price of gas from last month and finding the retail tax.
That average cost was $3.14. The gas tax started to climb again this year in February and rose to as high as 29 cents in August.
However, the national average price for a gallon of gas has fallen $1.34 since its peak in mid-June. The gas tax now is 24 cents, but starting soon enough in October it will be 22 cents, down two cents from September.
