After an admitted slow start the Hatchet Boys showed resiliency in a hostile Boonville to win 3-1 in overtime against the Pioneers.
Goals scored by Jason Morales and Wyatt Ownes (2). Dom Mattingly recorded one assist.
The Hatchets return home for two more conference matches on Saturday. First game kicks off at 11am.
The Washington Catholic Cardinals had three things to celebrate on Thursday —a win over a sectional opponent, a conference victory and Senior Night celebration — all courtesy of a 9-0 win over Vincennes Rivet at Rees Field. The Cards (5-1-3) on the season

Tomorrow at High Point Country Club in Bicknell the IHSAA girls golf sectional gets underway. Josh Butcher’s Lady Hatchets, Nick Winneggar’s Lady Cougars iand Joe Robinson’s Lady, Vikings are all in action. North Daviess and Washington go off number 10 starting at 11 AM and Barr Reeve who are paired with South Knox and Pike Central go off number one starting at 11. The top three teams and the top three individuals not on one of those teams will advance to next Saturday’s Country Oaks regional.
