On the volleyball court, the Loogootee Lady Lions had a great night on the court with a win over Vincennes Rivet 3-1, while JV also won in 2.
The ND Cougars go 3-0 in conference with a 3 game win at Shakamak.  25-15 25-18. 25-15. Brooke Pranger led the way with 13 kills.  In the JV contest North Daviess wins in 2. Another conference game at home with WRV on Thursday.
The Barr Reeve Vikings hosted the Jasper Wildcats in the new Viking arena and came away with a dominating three-set win, 25 to 22,20,21. The Vikings were led by Dylan DeCoursey with 16 kills, followed by Hannah Bledsoe with 11 and Addi Jones had 10.   For the Vikings, Colleen Trambaugh led with 20 digs and Emma Wagler had 26 assists.
 
The Washington Hatchet boys’ soccer team got a big win at the sports complex with a 3 nil victory over Gibson Southern
Goals were scored by Jason Morales, Jairo Dubon and Dominique Mattingly. Assists were recorded by Mattingly and Wyatt Owens. Julian Santillan got the shutout in goal.
On to tennis, where the Cougars of ND win again, this time over a very tough Terre Haute South, 4-1.  ND tennis is back at home today vs Tecumseh
The Barr Reeve tennis team beat White River Valley on Tuesday night, 5 to 0 to go 13 and four on the season. The next match will be against Northeast Dubois at Barr Reeve on Wednesday night.
The NFL season is only one week old and the Colts have already made the decision to move on from their kicker. The team announced it has decided to cut ties with Rodrigo Blankenship following his rough outing in Houston.
The Colts had a chance to score the go-ahead points on Sunday with a 42-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime, but Blankenship sent the kick wide right and the game ended in a 20-20 tie. Following the game, Blankenship took full responsibility for the miss.
In major league baseball, the Cincinnati Reds dropped a pair of games to the Pittsburgh Pirates, losing 6 to 1 and 1 to nothing in the doubleheader
Angels star Mike Trout’s streak of consecutive games hitting a home run ended at seven, one shy of the major league record, and the AL Central-leading Cleveland Guardians beat Los Angeles 3-1 on Tuesday night.Trout went 0 for 3 with three routine flyballs and a walk. The three-time AL MVP was chasing the mark of eight straight games with a home run, set by Pittsburgh’s Dale Long in 1956 and matched by Don Mattingly of the Yankees in 1987 and Seattle’s Ken Griffey Jr. in 1993.
The top two teams in the National League Central battled in St. Louis and the Brewers win it 8 to 4
And the Chicago Cubs beat the Mets in New York 4-1
