At 5:39 p.m. yesterday, Wabash County 911 received a call about a house explosion. Allendale Fire was dispatched along with several other emergency services in Wabash County.
Two residents were home at the time of the incident and were flown to a Louisville, Ky. trauma center.
A group of neighbors pulled one victim from the residence before the residence was completely engulfed in flames. AFPD has called in the Illinois State Fire Marshall to investigate the incident.
AFPD asks that the public avoid this area as it is very congested as emergency crews are still on site and will be for quite some time.
