Freddie Alsman

Freddie “Fred” Gene Alsman, 95, peacefully went to his Heavenly home on July 31, 2022, to be with his Lord and his wife, with his family by his side.
He was born on January 5, 1927, to the late Claude Alsman Sr. and Corine Alsman in Wheatland, Indiana.
Fred was a 1945 graduate of Wheatland High School. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Washington, which he loved, and had been for over fifty years. Fred enjoyed playing golf and going camping when he had the chance. He enjoyed raising hogs and farming, and especially enjoyed helping fellow farmers by taking care of their livestock when they were out of town. Most importantly, Fred loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving Fred are his children, Kim Alsman of Washington, Indiana, J.R. Alsman (Gail) of Hudsonville, Indiana, and Velena Morrison of Washington, Indiana; his grandchildren, Travis Alsman (Samantha), Angel (Alsman) Clifton (Zack), Kaely Morrison, Logan King, Aaron Gress (Lacey), and Nick Gress (Lacy); his great grandchildren, Josh Alsman, Zeek Clifton, and fourteen others; and several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Corine, his wife Oneida, his children Glenda Hendrixson, and Rick Killion, his sister Barbara Alsman, and his brother Claude Alsman Jr.
Visitation for Fred will be held on August 4, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00pm at Bethany Christian Church 1139 IN-57 Washington, Indiana 47501. A funeral service will be conducted on August 5, 2022, at Bethany Christian Church in Washington, Indiana at 12:00pm with Pastor Tom Watson and Pastor Matt Merold officiating. Friends and family may visit from 11:00am until the time of service. Fred will be laid to rest in the Bethany Cemetery in Washington, Indiana, following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
