Evansville-Vanderburgh School Board Member Asked to Resign

An Evansville-Vanderburgh School Board member says she’s being smeared by being included in a list of 22 people arrested as part of a weekend drug sweep.
Police arrested Amy Ward Saturday night for “maintaining a common nuisance.” She owns the Lamasco Bar and Grill in Evansville, where police conducted a drug raid.
Ward said on Facebook that police didn’t find drugs in her restaurant nor did they find drugs on her. She said of the 22 people arrested in the sweep, just one worked at the restaurant.
Police say they witnessed several drug deals in the Lamasco parking lot. In the end, police seized over 1,700 grams of marijuana and around 1,100 grams of cocaine, among various pills and other drugs.
EVSC school leaders have asked for Ward’s resignation from the board, but she’s refused so far.
