House Republicans’ version of an abortion ban preserves a rape and incest exception and changes the rules on abortion for medical reasons.
The House bill would allow abortions for up to 10 weeks in cases of rape or incest.
It expands the life of the mother exception to cover serious health risks that may not be life-threatening.
The bill also removes criminal penalties for doctors and gets rid of a requirement that rape victims sign an affidavit.
