Daviess County Economic Development Corporation Update

The Daviess County Economic Development Corporation gave their annual update at yesterday’s Daviess County Board of Commissioners Meeting.

Niehoff said that since 2016, Daviess County has featured 10 expansion projects, created around 433 jobs, received $2.2 million in grant dollars, and welcomed over $151 million in new investment…

Housing projects were also a topic of discussion.
According to a recent study, it is estimated that Daviess County will need over 1,100 new housing units by 2030.
In 2022, over $26 million has been invested into new housing projects, which will bring in around 280 new units. More projects are ongoing.
The Washington City Council recently approved a tax abatement for a project just north of True RX that will bring several more apartments, houses, and condominiums to the community.
