The Daviess County Board of Commissioners met for their regular meeting yesterday morning.
The board unanimously agreed to move forward with the project involving bridge #155 in Montgomery.
Officials approved the sole bid by Milestone Contractors, which totaled over $3.1 million and was higher than original estimates.
The commissioners also awarded two bids to K. D. Mendenhall Carpentry for two SIDC Housing Rehabilitation projects.
One bid totaled over $36,000 and the other was over $153,000. In addition, commissioners approved the release of a lien for a SIDC rehab project that was recently completed.
In other business, the commissioners heard from ADA Compliance Coordinator, Rodney Moeller, who presented several options on how to get employees trained on required ADA compliance.
Moeller presented three plans and received the go-ahead to pursue the option of email training monitored by department heads.
Finally, Board President, Michael Taylor, reported on the finalized numbers for the Daviess County Government Center.
The building had an end price tag of close to $9 million. The building houses several government offices, and commissioners are now looking ahead to the Daviess County Courthouse remodel.
