It looks like Jimmy Garoppolo’s days with the 49ers are numbered. The San Francisco franchise has given the quarterback’s agents the go-ahead to seek a trade to another team. If another team wants him, they’d take on his 24-point-2 million dollar salary, but could renegotiate with him on that number. Jimmy has been recovering from surgery on his throwing shoulder.
James Harden is returning to the 76ers. The NBA superstar agreed to a two-year, 68-point-6 million dollar deal with the Philadelphia team. James is worth every penny since he’s a 10-time All-Star and a six-time All-NBA first team selection, not to mention being the 2018 NBA Most Valuable Player.
We’re now a week away from the first Indianapolis Colts training camp practice of the 2022 NFL season. In just three days, rookies will report to camp on Sunday, July 23 before veterans are expected on July 26. The first session of camp will come at noon on July 27. Next Wednesday will mark the beginning of a 16-practice schedule ending on August 25. Like every year and every team, the Colts reconvene in Indy with plenty of stories surrounding the franchise. Yet again, Indianapolis has another signal caller under center in veteran Matt Ryan. At mandatory mini camp, Ryan said as a 14-year veteran he’s trying to learn a new offense and help his young receiving core be the best they can be.  Training camp will parlay into the preseason schedule all in preparation for the Colts season open on September 11 against the Houston Texans.
The second half of the Major League Baseball season kicks off on Thursday with the majority of teams returning to action on Friday. There are a hand full of Midwest teams in and around division races and jockeying for wild card position. In the AL Central, The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox come out of the break separated by just one game. The team are two and three games, respectively, back of the Minnesota Twins for first place in the division. Both teams have chance to separate themselves as Cleveland heads to Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday to kick off the second half. In the NL Central, St. Louis Cardinals sit just a half game back of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cards will get seven more chances to go head-to-head with Milwaukee during the regular season. They’re also tied for the final NL wildcard spot with the Philadelphia Phillies.
