Sullivan Co. WorkOne Express Center Officially Opens

WorkOne Western Indiana officially cut the ribbon to open the Sullivan County WorkOne Express Center on Friday.

The center provides free assistance to job seekers and employers, offering a one-stop location for employment support. Some of the services offered by the professionals at the center include resume building and updates, job searches, unemployment assistance, and securing funds for job retraining.

Lisa Lee, executive director, says there continues to be an abundance of open jobs in western Indiana, and that they encourage job seekers and employers to utilize the many resources available to them, from training grants to career coaching.

Sullivan High School was recently recognized by the State of Indiana for its Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program, a national workforce skills readiness program for high school students. Students secured $1.84 million in scholarships, the most of any JAG program in the state. In the Wabash Valley, JAG programs are supported by the local school administrations and the Western Indiana Workforce Development Board.

WorkOne Western Indiana serves Hoosier workers and employers in Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo Counties. To learn more, visit www.workonewest.com.
