Billy “Bill” E. Taylor, 79, passed away peacefully at his residence at 11:30 pm on July 16, 2022. Bill was born on May 20, 1943 in Greensburg, IN and he was the son of Ralph and Letha (Bergen) Taylor. He married Phyllis R. Connall on December 16, 1962.
Bill was a member of Veale Creek Baptist Church where he had been a Deacon and Trustee. Bill worked for twenty-two years for MacAllister Machinery starting as a mechanic and later becoming general manager of the Washington Branch. He also worked as a damage appraiser for General Adjustment Bureau and retired from the Washington Country Club where he was superintendent. After retirement Bill loved playing golf and in his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis R. Taylor of Washington, IN; his children, Patricia Kelsey and her husband Lee, Jacquelyn Sullivan and her husband Dale, Billy Taylor, Timothy Taylor and his wife Linda all of Washington, IN; sisters, Marcella Roberts of Greensburg, IN, Betty Wilson of Greensburg, IN, Ruth Taylor of Connorsville, IN; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sandra Taylor.
Friends may visit with Bill’s family from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Bill’s funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Williams officiating. Bill will be laid to rest in Aikman Creek Cemetery. The Taylor family has requested memorial contributions be made to Helping Hearts Hospice, 1314 E. Walnut St., Washington, IN 47501.
