The mayor of Evansville is not seeking re-election.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke announced on Monday that he would not be looking for a fourth term as the city’s mayor.
Winnecke was quoted as saying, “This is the end of politics for me.”
He added in a speech on the steps of City Hall that it’s time for Hoosiers who live in Evansville to choose a new person to lead the city forward.
He’s not sure yet what his next step will be.
