Vera Lou Hamilton

Vera Lou Hamilton, 85, of Washington, Indiana, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Eastgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.
She was born on January 14, 1937, in Cumback, Indiana, to the late Ovie Pride and Edna Denham Pride.
Vera was a 1958 graduate of Washington High School. After high school, she continued her education by obtaining her cosmetology certificate. She then opened Vera’s Beauty Shop in Washington, Indiana, which she owned and operated for many years. In 1972, Vera married the love of her life, William Bruce Hamilton, and he preceded her in death.
She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Washington, Indiana. Vera enjoyed playing on her computer, gardening her plants/flowers, and working word searches. She also enjoyed watching basketball and looking up her genealogy on Ancestry.
Vera is survived by her nieces, Marsha Pride of Washington, Indiana, and Pat Sanders, her stepson, Steve Hamilton (Sherry) of Greenfield, Indiana, her step-grandchildren, Cristin & David Kessler, and Aaron & Karen Hamilton, her step – great grandchildren, Claire, Lilly, Amelia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ovie and Edna, her husband, William Bruce Hamilton, her brothers, Raymond, Billy Joe, and Wayne Pride.
Visitation for Vera will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 11:00 – 1:00pm EST at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, Indiana 47501. A funeral service will begin immediately at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.
