Notre Dame baseball is one of eight teams still standing in the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The College World Series begins on Friday and the Irish are in attendance after knocking off No. 1 seed Knoxville in the Super Regional. On Friday, the Irish will begin the double elimination tournament with a game against the Longhorns at 7:00pm. Notre Dame is 40-15 overall on the season and playing in their third College World Series in program history and first since 2002.
The Indiana Pacers will host another group of NBA draft prospects on Friday in Indianapolis. The workout will be the 11th session the Pacers have hosted in advance of the 2022 NBA Draft. Five year college guard Eli Brooks from Michigan will be in attendance as well as North Carolina transfer and NCAA Tournament All-Region player Brady Manek. First team All-Big East member Jared Rhoden from Seton Hall will also be in attendance along with Maryland transfer Fatts Russell. Texas Tech’s Bryson Williams and Tulsa’s Jeriah Horne will round out the group.
The Golden State Warriors are NBA champions for the fourth time since 2015. Steph Curry and Golden State won Game 6 of the Finals in Boston 103-90 on Thursday night behind 34 points, seven rebounds and seven assists from Curry. Jaylen Brown led the scoring for the Celtics with 34 points of his own while Jayson Tatum struggled to just 13 points and five turnovers on 6-of-18 shooting. Curry, he two-time MVP, was named NBA Finals MVP for the first time in his career averaging 31.2 points across the six games.
