40-year-old Allen Weldy of Mitchell was arrested Thursday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Death. He was booked into the Daviess County Security Center. No bond was set. According to the Washington Time Herald, Weldy was a truck driver involved in a fatal 2021 accident in Daviess County. He received a sentence of nearly 10 years on Thursday after pleading guilty to one count of causing death while operating a vehicle while intoxicated. State Police say Weldy was driving a semi south on I-69 when he missed the Crane exit. Weldy then attempted to turn around at the median crossing and was struck by a southbound SUV driven by 52-year-old Susan Yoo of Indianapolis. She was was pronounced dead at the scene. Weldy later tested positive for meth.
Anthony Fellers of Washington was arrested Thursday by WPD on a warrant for Invasion of Privacy. He was booked into the Daviess County Security Center on a $100,000 bond.
