State lawmakers will decide today whether to override Governor Holcomb’s veto of a transgender sports bill.
The bill would make it illegal for public schools to allow transgender girls to play in girls high school sports.
Holcomb vetoed the bill saying that current IHSAA policy on the issue is sufficient.
The American Civil Liberties Union calls it hateful legislation and plans to sue.
More than a dozen states now have similar laws in place.
South Carolina became the latest last week following Tennessee, Oklahoma, Arizona and Utah.
