COVID related cancellations have dented southwestern Indiana’s football schedules this weekend. COVID outbreaks at Tecumseh, Boonville, and Pike Central, and contact tracing within the football teams at North Posey and Mt. Vernon, have had a ripple effect on this week’s…and next week’s high school football schedules. You might want to get your pencil and paper out to keep track of the changes, which have occurred regularly over the past two days.
These games have been cancelled, Tecumseh vs Springs Valley, Tell City vs Pike Central, Forest Park vs North Posey, Gibson Southern vs Mt. Vernon, and Boonville vs Princeton. This will be Pike Central’s second week out of action. The Chargers cancelled last week’s game with North Knox due to a player testing postive with COVID. Boonville and Tecumseh have already cancelled next week’s contests.
In the meantime, Forest Park and Springs Valley, and Tell City and Princeton will now play each other in replacement games tomorrow night.
